Recognition of electrosensitivity as a "disability" at European level? When will it be recognized?

Electrosensitivity is an environmental pathology related to exposure to high and low frequency artificial electromagnetic fields (EMF) whose symptoms manifest themselves at the nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory and skin levels. The pathology is often associated with multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) and fibromyalgia.

Recent "peer reviewed" scientific studies (2023) on real-life exposure to 5G technology highlight in healthy individuals, including children, the onset of electrosensitivity (EHS) symptoms, even serious ones, at levels of radio frequency electromagnetic fields (EMF/RF) far lower than those deemed "safe" by ICNIRP.

In the past, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, the European Economic and Social Committee and numerous independent researchers have called on Member States to recognize electrosensitivity as a disability and include it in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10 code).

Having regard to the above, can the Commission answer the following questions:

1.Do you intend to recognize electrosensitivity as a disability and give people who suffer from it equal rights and dignity as other European citizens?

2.Do you intend to improve access to diagnosis and treatments by promoting projects to disseminate clinical data between Member States and the scientific community?

3.Do you intend, in the interests of public health, to adopt new guidelines on exposure to EMFs, drawn up by independent researchers, and replace the ICNIRP guidelines, which currently allow exposures harmful to humans and the environment?
